April is a decidedly busy month to visit Disney World and the weeks including the Easter & Passover holidays are some of the busiest (and most expensive) all year. Many schools are closed for spring break and families flock to visit the Mouse. Can you still have a good time? Absolutely. A smart touring plan (which I can provide!) will help you to maximize your time in the parks and help you to avoid the long lines. One bonus is that theme park operating hours are always extended during this busy period, opening early and remaining open late to allow guests to take advantage of the parks during these less-crowded times of day. These are the times when arriving at the parks for rope drop is absolutely essential.
Crowd Levels & Special Events
During the beginning of the month, crowds are more on the moderate side with a surge in the levels as we approach the third and fourth weeks of the month. The Easter holiday is late this year, falling on Sunday the 20th, and the weeks before and after the holiday are the most crowded you’ll see until summertime. Crowds drop down again at the end of the month and they’ll stay low to moderate until the end of May when the summer season swings into action. If you aren’t locked into the holiday weeks because of your kids’ school schedules, waiting until the end of the month into early May to visit would be the optimal choice. The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival continues this month, but as in March, crowds are not affected.

Weather
April in Disney World boasts absolutely wonderful weather. Temperatures average around a high of 83° and a low of 59°. A sweatshirt or pants for mornings and evenings isn’t a bad idea, but for the most part, it’s going to feel comfortably warm. And with average rainfall at 2.28-inches, April in Disney World is the second driest month of the year.
Resort Pricing
Disney Resort pricing is based on multiple “seasons” throughout the year ranging from Value 1 (which is the least expensive) to Holiday (which is the most expensive). In between the two are Value 2, Fall Season, Regular Season, Summer Season, and Peak Season. Thrown into the mix are various holiday, weekend and special event rates which range from Regular Season to Holiday Season P
- April 1 – 12 Peak Season ($$$$$)
- April 13 – 20 Easter ($$$$$+)
- April 21 – 26 Peak Season ($$$$$)
- April 27 – 30 Regular Season ($$$)
