I’m very excited to announce that I was chosen by Disney to host a celebration in honor of their new “Show Your Disney Side” campaign! As a Disney Side host, I will be throwing a party in my home that inspires and encourages my guests to show their Disney sides. I’ll also be sharing the planning and celebration fun with all of you here, as well as on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook, so follow along!
As a self-proclaimed Disney nut, this is not a party theme that is going to be difficult for me to create. As soon as I applied for the opportunity to be a host I began brainstorming party ideas, as I was hoping that a sprinkle of pixie dust would come my way and I’d be chosen. Happily, just days after returning home from running the Walt Disney World Marathon, the news that I’d been selected as a host popped into my inbox.
And just a short while after that, after lots of anticipation, my Disney Side @Home Celebration kit arrived on my front porch.
Inside the box was a beautiful, deep-violet piece of American Tourister Luggage. American Tourister is the official luggage of Walt Disney World and Disneyland and the piece I received will be perfect for my next trip to the Disney parks! As an added bonus, it is carry-on sized which means it will slide neatly into an overhead luggage compartment meaning no baggage fees. The bag is a “Spinner” and rolls smoothly and easily.
Upon unzipping the suitcase, I discovered all the goodies of the Disney Side @Home Celebration kit which was chock-full of all kinds of great items to inspire and help me to plan and host my celebration. So without further ado, let’s take a look inside!
I love all the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party goods and decorations. Disney sent plates, napkins, cups, a table cloth and dangling character streamers. Also inside are some Mickey-shaped cutters that can be used to cut shape out of cookie dough, small sandwiches, fruit, pancakes or whatever else you’re inspired to make into Mickey heads. They can also be used as stencils for crafting other decorations, cards or cut-outs. A Disney Story themed Iphone case was also included–for anyone who has yet to download the Disney Story app, I cannot recommend it highly enough for turning your phone’s camera roll into an instant, shareable digital photo story. And finally, two packages of yummy Mickey Craisins.
The rest of the items below are all geared toward having a great party–games, party favors and activities as well as super-cool RunDisney cheer cards that can be personalized to cheer on your favorite runner at his or her next RunDisney race! The marathon medal is the one I earned running 26.2 miles of Disney magic at the Walt Disney World Marathon on January 12th this year. And I especially love the Mickey and Minnie mini-posters titled “So This is Love” that I plan to use as either Bingo or Trivia prizes.
So, am I inspired? You bet! I’m leaning toward a Mom’s Night In Disney Side celebration featuring some of the fabulous appetizers and cocktails you can find around the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts in Florida and California.
