Struggling to manage the hundreds of pictures and videos on your iPhone’s camera roll? Me, too! Fortunately, for all of us who love to digitally capture the little (and big!) moments of our lives with our phones, Disney has come to the rescue with a fabulous new app that can transform those moments into a story. On May 8th, Disney launched a free, new app called Story for the iPhone (availibility for other platforms is in the works) that makes it a snap to build a shareable photo montage from the images and videos stored on your phone. Better still, the app arranges your camera roll into a series of “moments,” turning your overwhelming photo stream into a lovely arrangement that can be readily turned into a digital storybook. Once your Story has been created, it is one simple step away from being shared via email or uploaded to Facebook and soon with Twitter and Pinterest.
I downloaded the app and followed @DisneyStory on Twitter shortly after I heard about it as I’m notoriously bad about downloading my pictures and syncing my iPhone. I’ve been dying to try it out and this past Wednesday gave me the perfect reason to do just that. I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to the Disney Social Media Moms on the Road event in New York City this week. I’m planning to write a recap post this weekend about the day’s incredible agenda, but thought that creating a Story about the event would be a great way to give everyone a quick taste of the magic!
I was so happy that I did so, because it allowed me to see just how easy the Story app is to use! In just a few minutes I was able to choose the images I wanted to use, create pages with text only, change up the page layouts, and add photo captions to build a mini-album that beautifully captures the day.
